This book is a personal account through letters and recollections of the apprenticeship that occurred between a young Canadian and Guenther, a remarkable individual who identified himself as a Dogman. Guenther was responsible for the breeding, keeping and training of the elite war dogs in Germany WWII.

Described as both philosophical and prophetic, My Years With a Dogman presents Ancient truths passed down from Dogman to Dogman, leading to a deeper understanding of human nature and the unique bond that exists only between man and dog. It also describes the unorthodox process that was used to teach the author these truths, permitting him to stand on the ground of his mentor and become the next Dogman and guardian of the Work.
